G’Day, Mates!
Once I was a traveler in your shoes – trying to plan a
trip DownUnder, but confused about information in guidebooks, on the
internet, or at my neighborhood travel agency.
Then as I traveled extensively in
Australia and New Zealand, I met many Americans who envied my trip.
They saw the tourist icons, but I camped in the outback, fished and
sailed the isolated northwest coast of Australia, and kayaked turquoise
bays in New Zealand. I saw koalas in the wild, while they went to zoos.
I’d stayed where the locals do, but they were in hotels packed with
other Americans.
In 1999, I opened Essential DownUnder Travel
so I could design custom
itineraries. I work with you to plan your trip, based on my personal
experience plus the feedback from hundreds of satisfied clients.
Previously, I was a writer/journalist for over 35 years,
focusing on travel and history. My articles were published in Gannett
Newspapers and a variety of magazines. Recently I completed writing a
book titled The Great Australian Spirit: One
Woman’s Journey Inside the Outback.
