Essential Downunder Travel
a

We specialize in custom itineraries for clients who want to travel on their own.  Our custom itineraries of New Zealand are tied to the season and how you want to travel around – self-drive, bus, scenic train, domestic flights – or a chauffeur.  We also plan the type of accommodation you want – perhaps an overnight with a New Zealand farm family, or a stay at one of their world famous lodges! If you have special interests – golf, trout fishing, hiking – these are easily added to the package!

If you only have one week, we suggest spending a short time on the North Island, and the rest of your time on the fabulous South Island.  Christchurch and Queenstown are the highlights of a short stay.

If you have two weeks, we suggest more time in Auckland, Rotorura, perhaps Wellington, on the North Island.  On the South Island, you’ll have more time to see Milford Sound, perhaps go kayaking or see the whales at Kaikoura, explore Marlborough Sound, etc.

If you have three weeks, your tour of the North Island might include the Bay of Islands, or the wineries of Hawks Bay.  You’ll want to take time to travel across the South Island by scenic train, and take the fantastic trip down the West Coast – one of the most beautiful drives in the world.
